[chirp_users] New Daily Build
Greetings,
A new daily build of CHIRP is available. This includes changes made directly to the tree yesterday, and may include additional features, bug fixes, and/or bugs. If you are interested in trying it, grab it from the following location:
http://trac.chirp.danplanet.com/chirp_daily/daily-20130203
A list of the changes included in this build (since the last daily) follows:
Changes for Build #155 [Dan Smith dsmith@danplanet.com] Make BankNameEditor cache the bank model too, since the jobs expect it now Fixes #457
I don't know why it didn't work with both of my radios in the begining, but it works now. Thanks, Leo

Leo, Without going into a lot of detail, there are apparently two flavors of UV-5R radios with BFB297 firmware floating around. The difference in one caused a problem with uploading. So in the beginning CHIRP wouldn't work with both radios.
The important thing was that someone took the time to file a bug report (Bug #463). Eventually, after a few exchanges, additional information and files were supplied that made it possible to track down the cause of the problem.
A workaround for the issue was developed, and after some testing, an update was released.
Thanks for reporting that the update worked for you. Jim

No problem Jim, I bought these radios for emergency purposes, and I want to load the Marine, and GMRS channels as well as repeaters for my area. I think I can get that done now. I don't have them all loaded yet, I am not used to the interface, but I think I can figure it out. Problem Is, I don't have the right channels with the correct numbers. I will eventually figure it out. Thanks, Leo

Marine and GMRS frequencies are provided as stock configs under the File menu.

Yep, I guess I just meant I want them to correspond to their original channel numbers, but that is probably impossible since the lists all start at #1 and go to 88 or 22 or whatever the corresponding frequency type may be. Leo
