[chirp_users] Ubuntu 20.04 ppa?
Hi,
I'm not having any luck with the Ubuntu ppa, despite following the instructions on the site when I search for, or try to install chirp-daily it's not found.
Can anyone confirm that it's working for them?
Thanks. Ciemon G0TRT
You need to edit your sources.list file to point the Chirp entry to one of the LTS versions of Ubuntu. I point mine to xenial.

Thanks Nigel,
I see that the focal ppa isn't building the daily snapshot. But alas there are dependency issues with the xenial package:
$sudo aptitude install chirp-daily The following NEW packages will be installed: chirp-daily{b} libpython2.7{a} python-libxml2{a} 0 packages upgraded, 3 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded. Need to get 1,740 kB of archives. After unpacking 8,958 kB will be used. The following packages have unmet dependencies: chirp-daily : Depends: python-libxslt1 which is a virtual package and is not provided by any available package
Depends: python-gtk2 which is a virtual package and is not provided by any available package
Depends: python-serial which is a virtual package and is not provided by any available package
Depends: python-suds which is a virtual package and is not provided by any available package
The following actions will resolve these dependencies:
Keep the following packages at their current version: 1) chirp-daily [Not Installed]

That's a Python V2.7 dependency problem. The 3 dependencies can be located and installed although I don't remember where I got them from. I've previously written it up either here or on the Facebook group. I don't remember which.
