[chirp_users] Chirp, RFNET Lookup, tones
I am a VK amateur. I have a VX7, I have a subscription to rfinder.net . It appears to have correct information when I look at the web page.
When I use CHIRP and online lookup, it downloads the repeater names, frequencies and offsets, but appears to set the tone to 88.5 and not propagate any of the correct ones, where there is one. I have tried some of the CSV formats from the web page, but they don't seem to go anywhere.
I am a newb, could be my ignorance, but any info would be welcome.
Regards.

I don't have access to an RFinder account anymore, so I can't debug this. It sounds like the RFinder server has changed their data format again. I suggest you contact them for more information.
It sounds like maybe it's time to remove the RFinder driver from the tree as it gets very little use and is clearly in disrepair. Does anyone feel strongly about this?
Hi Dan,
Thanks for the reply.
It appears that the 88.5 appears in the areas where there is no tone specified. After looking in more detail, tones are correct for the sites that do have a tone. Also the TONE column actually says NONE for those without. My error it seems.
Another quick question, is there a template for changing global defaults? Would be good to set high power as the default for all frequencies..

Ah, okay, you may want to enable View->Hide Unused Fields.

When you're looking at the memory editor, the power levels you see are the ones already set in the memories being displayed. If you are editing, new memories take the defaults of the previous memory entered, which means that if you enter four memories in a row, and select High power for the first, the other three will default to High as well.
Also, there is already a feature request in place for a bulk memory editing interface, which would allow you to select a group of memories and apply a particular setting to all of them such as setting all memories to High power). That's not implemented yet, but it's on the list.
Hope that helps!
Thanks again, Dan.
Just learning with Chirp, looks great. More to learn.
I won't ask any VXA-700 questions today...
Cheers
