[chirp_users] chirp in mac osx?
Hi there, I don't suppose that there is anyway to get chirp to use the actual aqua interface that is native to the mac is there? Unfortunately Voiceover the screen-reader in the mac doesn't work with anything that is using .gtk Thanks,

Nope, like I've said, GTK is only native on Linux. However, unlike Aqua and the native Win32 widgets, GTK *does* provide cross-platform support which allows CHIRP to run on other operating systems. Since I only use Linux, that would be bad news for most of CHIRP's users :D
I am confused by some of these emails related to OSX.
So I will ask directly - will Chirp run on OSX? If so, where can it be downloaded since I am unable to find a dmg file for OSX.
Thanks,

Chirp will run on OSX, but there is no dmg to download. First install the KK7DS python runtime, then download the helper script here: http://chirp.danplanet.com/resources/chirp-on-macos. It will download the standard tarball release (same as the linux release), setup, and run chirp for you.

Yes, the instructions explicitly say to run it in Terminal.

You can open a terminal window and then ./chirp_osx.sh or right click it and always open with terminal from the finder.

Thanks Tom, I'll give it a go. I think the KK7DS runtime is already on my system as I recall, another program I installed uses it.
