[chirp_users] Beta Download
Dan,
I would like to try the beta version that supports the ID-880H but cannot find where to download. Can you or someone steer me in the right direction to get the beta version?
Thanks,

You can get them here:

Thanks for checking it out. I've had *no* feedback on ID-880 support thus far.
Thanks Dan, downloaded and installed. What radio do I select? I do not see a selection for the ID-880H and every radio I try says "an error has occurred, I can't talk to this model."

There should be an "id880" option. Which version did you get?
Dan,
Whoops, my bad. Downloaded incorrect beta file. Got the correct one, and downloading from radio now.

Dan,
This is what I found so far. All the memories seem to download just fine. But all the names of the banks did not download.
There is also no provision in Chirp for the radio settings. What happens to those settings when the memory file is changed and then uploaded to the radio? Same question as it applies to the memory bank names?
Thanks,

Oh, I didn't realize you could name the banks on the 880 (I haven't used it much). I can see about adding that.

Correct, that's not what I've focused on. That is very different for each radio, as you can imagine, so it will be a huge amount of work. It definitely needs to be done, but it's a lot of work.
You are downloading an image of the radio. It contains all the memories and all the settings. While CHIRP can't show you the settings, they're all still there and will be unharmed when you program it.
Dan,
Yes, it would be nice to be able to name or change the names of the banks. It's also fine that your program cannot change the settings. I was just worrying about it wiping out the radio settings when uploading the file back to the radio. I will continue to test and advise.
Thanks,
