[chirp_users] Is repeaterbook import broken?
Was entering the 40+ Travis County, TX repeaters by hand from repeaterbook, and happened to discover that Chirp supports import. Unfortunately, when I use the political region import feature, select Texas, Travis County, 2M band, I get a bunch of channels with no data and the frequency set to 0.00. Am I doing this incorrectly or is the feature no longer working?
Thanks.
Just tried it.... works fine here. I even tried the county you tried.

OK, I see the problem. I'm attempting to package Chirp as a flatpak, which is a sandboxed packaging format by default, and I neglected to give it network access. Fixing that, plus a couple other granted permissions, has me making a bit of progress.
Now I see a list of repeaters. How do I indicate to which channel I want each assigned? There's a To column, but there's also a From column, so I'm not immediately sure if those values refer to channels or something else.
Thanks.

Multiple ways.
If you use "Query data source" it will bring the repeaters into another tab. Then you can copy-and-past from this tab to the tab to wherever you want in the tab that is compatible with your radio.
If you use "Import from data source", the "Import From File" menu will allow you to remap the "To" column to where you want the imported repeaters to go. Just click the buttons at the bottom to increment/decrement the "To" column by that value.

Hmm, I must be doing something wrong. If I use the Query function, select Repeaterbook, Political, TX, Travis County, 2M band, then click OK, I only get back a single repeater, 145.1100. There should be around 10.
For performing proximity queries, what values are expected for Location and Distance? If I enter my zip code and 100, again I only get a single repeater, but it doesn't appear to be at all relevant to my location. Not sure if the value geocodes, or if a specific format is expected. Also not sure if the distance is KM, miles, meters, etc.
Thanks for helping me with this.

These are probably better questions for a RepeaterBook forum than here. It's sort of a black box. I can tell you that the RepeaterBook API documentation describes the Location field as "Requested city". Sounds like it's geocoding. In a private email, the RepeaterBook admin described the units to me: "It is autoset to Km for all countries except the US."

I get 16 repeaters for TX, Travis County, 2M. Do you happen to have your Memory Range set to 1 and 1 so that only memory 1 is permitted to be listed?

Thanks! Managed to figure out how to do the import directly, but I appreciate the CSV.

Yes, that was part of it, thanks. I'm blind, am using the Orca screen reader, and for some reason it didn't speak values when I first tabbed over these spinboxes. When I returned to them, I found them set to 0 and 1.
The other part was that I didn't realize I needed to click Refresh after changing the values. Pretty sure I tried changing them before, and when they didn't take, I thought the import was at fault.
Anyhow, I successfully imported 2M and 70 CM repeaters for my area. Thanks for the help. My only minor nit is that some of the repeaters are greyed out due to being off-air, and these import as 0ed-out channels I later have to delete. Is there any way to automatically compress inbound channel allocation such that, if slots 5-6 are disabled repeaters for instance, inbound slot 7 outputs to channel 5 without me later having to delete 2 empty slots?
