Yaesu vs. Baofeng/TYT band memories
Greetings,
Two amateurs groups need to build up a common group. One has Yaesu FT-4x, the other Baofeng or TYT. Chirp supports both. However, it does not seem possible to past or export-import the band memories from one model to the other - at least I couldn't figure out how to do it. Is there a way, or one has to retype everything by hand?
Thank you in advance.
Massimo

You can import from any type of file. So if the FT-4 is already done, just download from the other radio, File->Import and select the .img file of the FT-4 and it will bring in your memories. Or open both and select all, copy, paste into the other. Or export one to CSV (File->Export to CSV) and then open/copy/paste or import into the other.
This is pretty much CHIRP's purpose in life. Definitely don't re-type everything :)

Unfortunately, it does not work, I have already tried. When importing or pasting from the Baofeng .img file into the Yaesu .img file I get an error message saying:
"Unable to find a supporting tuning step for" following by the frequence. And this is for 66 memories, including all the PMR. And I am stuck.....

File a bug so we can see what your issue is. Obviously you can't copy and paste memories from one that the other cannot support. It's quite common for the chinese radios to support basically 1kHz steps, while few Japanese ham radios will do that. But, could also be a bug, so please file and I'll have a look.

Thanks, submitted as https://www.chirpmyradio.com/issues/11675 "Following" should have been "followed", of course. Apologies....
