Downloads and uploads from and to GT3TP Seem to go as expected but edits to NAME (ie text) are not saved on the radio screen. They are there on the file when downloaded again but not displayed on the radio. Any suggestions?

You have to set the radio to display the names. I don’t remember what menu numbers are, tho. You do a and b separately.

You shouldn't be getting bounces. If you are they eventually stop. You only get bounces if you're using the wrong email address.

You have to set the Memory Display Format (MDF-A for the top display line and MDF-B for the bottom display line) to NAME. In CHIRP it is...
Settings -> Basic Settings -> Display Mode (A): Channel | Name | Frequency Settings -> Basic Settings -> Display Mode (B): Channel | Name | Frequency
