[chirp_users] Chirp updates
I have been getting numerous Chirp emails that I don’t really need. If I unsubscribe will I still receive Chirp software update notices?
KS5KIP Skip
The actual CHIRP program will notify you of updates on startup.

chirp_users mailing list chirp_users@intrepid.danplanet.com http://intrepid.danplanet.com/mailman/listinfo/chirp_users This message was sent to trevor@holyoak.com at trevor@holyoak.com To unsubscribe, send an email to chirp_users-unsubscribe@intrepid.danplanet.com
Another option would be to change your list subscription to only send a daily "digest" i.e. summary of the previous days posts. You can do that by logging onto the list member options logon page, here:
http://intrepid.danplanet.com/mailman/options/chirp_users
If you see any discussion in the digest that interest you, then you can go to the message archive to quickly page through the discussion thread, here (no logon required):
http://intrepid.danplanet.com/pipermail/chirp_users/
And yes, everything sent to this list does get posted to the archive. "The Internet never forgets." :^)

I does. And it is very annoying to me. I usually hit enter to go past the notice and because the default is [Yes], my browser opens to the CHIRP download page. I don't need this notification because I use Linux and get my updates from the CHIRP snapshot repository. I wish there was a way to put a setting in the chirp.config file to set the default action to [No] and/or tick a box in the notification to disable future notifications like some of the other notifications. But eventually I will train myself to click [No] instead of pressing [Enter]. LOL

I think just hitting escape will make it go away but not take the default action right? Either way, we can add a config flag to make it not do that if you want :)

Probably not but you can always set up email rules to reject those you don't want.
See the docs for your email client.
