[chirp_users] Converter for DStarComm 'csv' files
Has anyone written a converter from DStarComm 'csv' to Chirp 'csv' files ?
Such as the ones 'exported' from here: http://www.nwham.com/repeaters/keyResult.php?keyword=FARRN&state_id=CA01
Shouldn't be too difficult, just don't want to waste time if it's already done. Simon.
Hi Simon,
Has anyone written a converter from DStarComm 'csv' to Chirp 'csv' files ?
Not that I'm aware of. I know a lot of people still use that utility, but it's "dead" now as far as I know. The only thing I know of that it does that CHIRP doesn't is reading IC-9x ICF files. Are you interested in spending your effort to help decode that format instead of converting at the CSV level? I can certainly help, I just need some motivation :)
Hi Dan and all, DStar-Com did look pretty dead and I didn't like the comment saying you couldn't even redistribute the binary!!!
Unfortunately I don't have a IC-9x (or it's software) to play with.
I did some tinkering with IC-V82 icf files and it was pretty easy to see which bits changed as you changed values in the software. Basically set up channels with only on thing changed (ie. TSQL tone) and look at the file in a text editor.
If I could get hold of the official Icom software for IC-9x (and the registry settings too fool it into thinking that you had already plugged a radio in), then maybe I could help.
Simon.

CHIRP should import a V82 ICF file, does it not? It can't write them of course, but that's more work to be done :)
