Is there any hope that the YAESU C4FM radios such as FT2DR FTM400DR FTM100DR FTM3200DR will ever be included in the CHIRP compatible radios?
Right now we are stuck with paying RTSystems an outrageous price for a produce that is far inferior to CHIRP.

I’m new to C4FM, having just gotten in on the low end with an FT-70DR.
But I was extremely pleased with how easy the ADMS-10 software was to use. I entered 50+ repeaters manually and haven’t yet tried importing / exporting.
What issues are you having with the ADMS-7 & 8?

Many people chafe at the thought of paying a fair price for good software and a USB programming cable that works after every windows update. And of course there are a few who can't get the software to work, there are always those.... Running ADMS-x on several radios here, helped develop the FTdx5000 version. Virtually ALL my programming cables are from RT-Systems and I haven't had a cable fail to perform in the last 5 years through windows updates and computer upgrades.
Chirp does a few things the ADMS-x does not. Especially for my two FT-817s. I am fortunate to have the option of either, along with the most reliable cables ever,

I would have used CHIRP but I was fighting an Errno 13 issue and CHIRP wouldn’t run. By the time I got past that, I had my FT-70DR programmed with ADMS-10.
At some point I’ll probably download into CHIRP to compare. I’m too new to know what might be missing in the ADMS-10, but it was super intuitive
I’ve never purchased from RTS. I bought an FTDI cable for the Baofengs and a Valley Enterprises cable for the FT-8800R. No issues other than the Errno 13 issue which I worked out.

I cannot comment on your choice of cable. I do not know them. There was a time about 8 years ago when any cable would work and it made sense to go cheap. But then the USB-Serial converter that chip was cloned and sold cheaply quit working. To fight back the developers of the real chip and drivers wrote another "official" driver that caused their thieving competitor's cables to quit working. For a while the FTDI chip-set could be counted on as it hadn't been cloned yet. But about 3 years ago the FTDI chipset was also cloned, with the same result. And for a while you could guess by price. The more expensive cables were not clones. But now you cannot tell even by price, some of the sellers caught on and upped the cost of the counterfeit cables to make them look legit.
I can see both sides of the issue. Everyone wants a USB-Serial chip for $1. But the people who developed the chip and the software deserve to be paid for the work done in design, testing and marketing it. You can argue either way for it. But the fact is that Windows updates the driver based on the "official" driver provided to them by the owners of the patent for the chipset and software. So at any time, a new driver will be written, sent to Microsoft, be included in a Windows Update, and many counterfeit cables will just quit working.
I have been using various RT-Systems cables for a number of years now. I have only had one issue with an RT-systems cable, and that was self-inflicted, and quickly diagnosed and fixed with a call to the RT-systems support tech. Yeah, I pay like $25 for the nicely made cables. That is 2-1/5 to 5 times more expensive than the cloned cables. But when a Windows Update gets pushed to my computer, I have no fear that the drivers will be over-written.
As to the software, I like the ADMS-x stuff very much. It drives just like Excel, and I work a lot in Excel. So for me, it is nice. But I needed to make some changes to my FT-817s, and the RT-Systems software wouldn't do it. Chirp did it. I was worried about a learning curve with chirp. But it wasn't too difficult to figure out, and in less than 30 minutes I had both of my FT-817s all ready to go.
I would say to download the latest version of Chirp and give it a go. It doesn't drive quite like Excel or ADMS-x, but it isn't difficult to learn.
Gotta run, today is my last day on shift, I start 8 days off at 1730 today. Yesterday a 1,335 MW generator tripped off-line, and the rest of the day was a scramble to keep the grid whole on a hot afternoon. I hope today is smoother. And I need the break.

I’ve used CHIRP for five years, but so far only for Baofengs. I immediately ditched the Prolific cable rather than hassling with maintaining the correct driver.
My FTDI cable was purchased prior to the counterfeits and has always worked well.
Valley Enterprises is a supplier of quality programming cables (among other products). They may or may not be cheaper than RTS, but it could be another source.

Ill echo my sentiment towards the Valley-Enterprises cable. They are great!!! I just got mine off Amazon and worked perfect first time!

And of course there are a few who can't get the software to work, there are always those.... Running ADMS-x on several radios here, helped develop the FTdx5000 version. Virtually ALL my programming cables are from RT-Systems and I haven't had a cable fail to perform in the last 5 years through windows updates and computer upgrades.
Chirp does a few things the ADMS-x does not. Especially for my two FT-817s. I am fortunate to have the option of either, along with the most reliable cables ever,

I’m new to C4FM, having just gotten in on the low end with an FT-70DR.
But I was extremely pleased with how easy the ADMS-10 software was to use. I entered 50+ repeaters manually and haven’t yet tried importing / exporting.
What issues are you having with the ADMS-7 & 8?

Is there any hope that the YAESU C4FM radios such as FT2DR FTM400DR FTM100DR FTM3200DR will ever be included in the CHIRP compatible radios?
Right now we are stuck with paying RTSystems an outrageous price for a produce that is far inferior to CHIRP.
