[chirp_users] Baofeng UV-5R (3) Antennas
My Baofeng UV-5R is a three band HT that came with two antennas. There is no description of which antenna is used with which of the three band (2m., 1.25m., and 70 cm.) One antenna is just shy of 6.5' long and somewhat slim. The other is just over 41/4" and more stubby. I find the longer one works satisfactorily on both 2m. and 70 cm. which I use the most. But I would appreciate any input describing the proper designed and intended band use of each antenna. Gary (W8HT)
If you have the 5X3, then I believe that you will find the 173 mm is for 220 the 165 mm is for 144-440...measured from the end of the metal base Mine are marked in the inside of the base...not obvious at all. But your dims don't match what I have, so... ~R~

Those antennas are marked at the bottom of the antenna where they screw into the radio. Look directly at the connector. They are different colors as well as being marked with the frequency range. One is 220, the other is 144 & 440.
