I did a read from my Icom IC-2100 using Chirp. All the memories that were in the radio were loaded into chirp successfully, but there was one additional column called ToneSql that was set for all channels to 88.5. I do not use a Receive tone squelch on any of the channels, so not sure why this column is showing up after the read from the radio. Also, there does not seem to be a way to set the ToneSql to not be active. The drop down menu for each channel does not have a "n/a" or "none" option, just more tone frequencies.
How do I make the tone squelch inactive for the receive so I can add some frequencies to the current list and then write back to the radio? Can I just "hide" the ToneSql column and then when I do the write the ToneSql will not be written to the radio?

Your radio stores the ToneSql (CTCSS Tone) value all the time, whether it's being used or not. What controls if it is used is the Tone Mode, which must be set to TSQL in order to use the value.
Can I just "hide" the ToneSql column and then when I do the write the ToneSql will not be written to the radio?
The ToneSql value is stored all the time. It cannot be "not written to the radio". However, if you want CHIRP to hide the values that are not used based on the tone mode, check the View->Hide Unused Values option.
Thank you for reply below. One last question. I see how the ToneSql can be enabled or disabled in the Tone mode selection now. This allows either Tone, None, or ToneSql to be selected. If the Tone Mode column enables or disables the info in the Tone and ToneSql columns, I can see how you could enable one or the other using the drop down menu selections (Tone, None, ToneSql). If needed, how would you enable both Tone and ToneSql for a given frequency?

If you mean for split-tone operation, you don't. The two values are stored so that you could switch from one tone to the other quickly in the field, but there is no way to use a separate tone for transmit and receive. Other brands of radios have this ability, but most amateur Icoms do not.
Just for clarification: Tone mode implies just the Tone field is used for transmit, no squelch tone on receive. TSQL mode implies that the ToneSql tone is used for _both_ transmit and receive squelch.
Ignore that column. It isn't used unless you have it selected as a squelch type on one of the columns before it.
