I thought with the great success I had with my Linux box and my Baofeng that I would try the LT-Luiton 588UV. So hooked everything up and I chose as radio type Leixen which someone in my club told me worked for them on Chirp. My first attempt I got Failed to download from radio: Radio refused program mode. Anyone know what might be causing this error? On my second attempt I thought well it worked so well with the Baofeng maybe I'd try making it think it's a Baofeng. So I selected Baofeng Model BF888 which I think is a mobile radio like mine. The error this time read No response from radio. Any idea? Thanks, Jack

This radio looks similar to the BTech, QYT and similar mobiles radio variants. As far as I can tell, your radio is not supported. To get your radio supported, follow this issue and provide the needed Portmon log file.
