[chirp_users] TH-F6A Help
I have a Kenwood Th-F6A and I am using W7 64 bit. I know for sure the program is communicating with the radio because I can DL the current memories with any problems. I then following these instructions:
When done you have to import the file radionew.csv by clicking on Radio --> Import from File. The pop up window requests you to either mark or uncheck the checkbox at the different memory locations or select either all, nothing or inverse and click OK when you want to proceed with the import. Otherwise click at cancel. Save the import save the file as mynewradiodata.img using the File drop down menu. Upload the file to your radio using the Radio --> Upload to Radio Clone function. Enjoy the new settings of your radio!
And end up with the following error:
Thanks Joe N7QPP

Hello Joe,
You sent a picture as the "error" but the Yahoo system ate it. Could you repost this in text form?
Btw, what version are you running? It matters!

Yeah, you can't upload to a live radio like the F6A. The procedure for you should be:
1. Click download from radio 2. Memories begin to populate in the editor 3. Make changes, which are sent immediately to the radio 4. Close the program
If you want to export to CSV and edit it offline, you can do that, but then you need to import it back into the radio, you can't upload it directly to the radio. So, that case would look something like this:
1. Download from radio 2. Memories begin to populate 3. Export to CSV 4. Open/Edit that CSV file either with something like Excel or CHIRP itself. 5. When done, do the "Download from radio" step again, and then 6. Do import from CSV and choose the CSV file you changed 7. The import will write those changes to the radio
Does that make sense? We probably need a couple of use-case scenarios on the website for various workflows to make some of this more transparent.

So when I try this process I get no errors but nothing is getting updated. Chirp processes the import but does not seem to really do the replacement and therefore does not update the radio.

If you stop at step #2 and change, for example, the frequency of channel 1, does that get updated on the radio?
If not, please send me your debug.log file (after trying the above) so I can take a look.
