im a volunteer firefighter and want to buy a baofeng uv b5 radio to carry in my vehicle until I get to the station or scene, can these be programmed easily on repeater systems in nova scotia Canada??????

Hi Pat,
This isn’t exactly a CHIRP question, mostly a BaoFeng question. You should check out the miklor.com http://miklor.com/ website for BaoFeng specific information. That said, if the repeaters in your area operate in the 136-174 MHz or the 400-520 MHz range and you have the appropriate amateur radio license, the UV-B5 should work for you. I have a Baofeng UV-B5 and have been able to successfully program it with the chirp daily builds.
