Re: [chirp_users] An early Christmas present for CHIRP users
Download the .exe version of the liveCD. Once downloaded, double click on the file. After a minute or so, a window will open. Click OK in that window, your CD tray will open and you will be prompted to insert a blank CD. Insert the blank CD, close the tray and click OK on the popup. It will burn the image to CD for you. Then simply reboot your computer to the CD.
The exe version is fully self-contained. It requires no additional software to make it work. The iso version on the other hand does require additional software. So again, if you are a Windows user and in doubt, download the Chirp_liveCD_23Dec12_32bit.exe file.

Thanks for the info. My first liveCD attempt is now hanging as the key ornament on our Festivus pole with a nice piece of silver ribbon.

Thanks Bob, that worked fine. I just had to have the patience to wait long enough for the window with the BURNCDCC program to open. Noe the disc boots fine and I was able to read the radio. Next question. When I saved the file that I read from the radio, where did it go to? Is it now on a sector of my hard drive?
