[chirp_users] New Daily Build
Greetings,
A new daily build of CHIRP is available. This includes changes made directly to the tree yesterday, and may include additional features, bug fixes, and/or bugs. If you are interested in trying it, grab it from the following location:
http://trac.chirp.danplanet.com/chirp_daily/daily-04022012
A list of the changes included in this build (since the last daily) follows:
Changes for Build #49 [Dan Smith dsmith@danplanet.com] Add cross tone support for the wouxun driver. This allows you to use different tones for transmit and receive, as well as do things like Tone on transmit and DTCS on receive. It does not allow using different DTCS codes for transmit and receive. Mostly addresses Bug #65
[Dan Smith dsmith@danplanet.com] Update FT857 driver to handle the changed Cross Modes definitions Bug #65
[Dan Smith dsmith@danplanet.com] The BruteForce test for Cross tone modes should not expect the driver to know the difference between TSQL and Tone->Tone if the tones are identical. Related to Bug #65
[Dan Smith dsmith@danplanet.com] Fix the terminology in the Cross Modes definition so that it's more consistent. It was added to support Kenwood radios, which use DCS instead of DTCS and CTCSS instead of TSQL. This changes it to just "Tone" or "DTCS" for the transmit and receive modes. Related to Bug #65

All,
Fedora Linux RPMs for the latest chirp-daily build are now available in the KK7DS Ham-Apps yum repository. To add the repository as a software source, please follow these instructions: http://www.d-rats.com/component/content/article/30-d-rats-yum-repository/
I know it says d-rats, the chirp files are in the same repository.
After setting up the repository, open the "Add/Remove Software" tool and go to "software sources" under the system menu. Make sure the "KK7DS Ham Apps Beta Software" line is checked (enabled).
For some reason, the Fedora package manager likes the beta versions better that the daily builds, so you may not see the daily release in the list the first time you update. If you don't see it, open a terminal window and enter: yum update chirp-daily_daily_04022012 Or: yum update chirp-daily_daily_040220121.fc16
That should install the latest daily build.
For those who don't wish to use the repository but still want the RPM (binary or source), please look here: http://ham.n0so.net/fileadmin/ham/apps/rpm/fedora/16/noarch/chirp-daily_0402...
