Hi all,
A list of the changes included in this build (since the last daily) follows:
As you can see, this list of changes is pretty long. This is something I have been working on for several weeks on the side, and I really need everyone's help testing each driver to make sure that it still behaves as it should with this change. If you don't see someone reply here and say that your model is okay, that means it's not tested!
This changes the core of the way CHIRP represents frequencies (and offsets) internally. The method previously used was flawed and caused several drivers to incorrectly round some frequencies off, which is obviously a bad thing. This set of changes makes that a lot cleaner and will fix a lot of issues, but it requires diligence to make sure that all of the drivers got converted over. Just setting the frequency and offset on a couple channels and making sure that the radio does the right thing is all that needs to be done.
PLEASE, test this daily build on as many radios you have and let me know that things are okay. I don't own all of these radios, so I NEED YOUR HELP!
Thanks!

All,
This afternoon I'll start creating Fedora Linux RPMs of the daily chirp builds on a *weekly* schedule - usually on Fridays. I'll do them more often if something significant is added or fixed.
Think of them as a summary of the past week's daily builds!
I'll e-mail the list when the first of the daily RPMS are available.
Happy Testing & 73,
Mike, N0SO

Many thanks Mike! This should help get some additional testing from the Linux side of the fence... I hope :)

My pleasure - I'm going to try my hand at automating the process on one of the machines I use as a server - then probably break it by "updating" to fc15 (which was released on Tuesday). I'll do two builds, one for fc13 (which is still python 2.6) and one for the most recent fc release (currently fc15) since it's now using python 2.7.
Hope you've recovered from Dayton!
Mike

Heh, I feel the same way :)
I think Steve is going to get going on that at some point (probably not for the daily builds, but the releases).

I pulled down the daily and tried it on my TH-F6A. It seems to read the radio just fine, but when I try to edit a new channel (one that was not previously populated, I get this message in a popup:
Error setting memory: Frequency 147140000.00000 is out of range
I'm trying to set memory 39 to 147.14+ (K7MLA repeater on Butterfield Peak near Salt Lake City). I click in the frequency column for channel 39, delete the 0.000000 that is already there, and type in 147.14. When I hit return, I get the error popup as described above. When I hit OK on the error popup, the memory display refreshes (putting me back at the top of the list) and when I scroll down to channel 39 again, it's greyed out (as if not set) and showing 0.000000 again.
I get the same behavior when trying to edit an existing memory. Channel 38 already contains frequency 145.450000. I try to change it to 147.14 and I get the same popup message.

Perfect, you should get a prize! This is exactly the sort of issue I expected to come up. I just fixed it so it'll be in tomorrow's build. If you could check that it's fixed tomorrow, I'd sure appreciate it.
Thanks!

I will test again tomorrow.
