Is there not a tried and true Prolific drivr from the files section of Chirp? That is unless the device is FTDI based. Not sure if there is a preference driver for those.

I had a similar problem with mine my windows 7 my Windows XP works fine but I had to download the disc that came with my program cable and had to download the driver that was stamped on the back of the paperwork for the disc . Then it all loaded in and work is great I was able to clone the radio to reprogram it and then upload and download it. Hope this helps

I am affrayed, this is not the issue, my Login name is Jura, no special eastern europeancharacters. By side I use Czech wersion of Win7 and Win8.1 so this should also not be the case.
