I have a UV-5RV2+ that I bought from Amazon about 6 months ago. I've tried to program it with no luck. I'm willing to give it away. It comes with a charger and program cable. Any takers? Colman
Have you checked to see if the programming cable is a Prolific? If it is, try rolling your cable driver back to 3.2.0.0. Also, make sure the cable is FIRMLY installed to the radio, then try programming it again before giving it away. If it still doesn’t work, then I would be interested in it. I can cover postage.

If it's a cheaper cable that may be the problem, genuine FTDI chipped cables are about $17... The cheaper cables all work fine on Linux.
