[chirp_users] Help request: Chirp does not start
Hi everyone. Just enrolled the list seeking for help. I tried to install Chirp on my old notebook running XP. Installation OK. When I launch the program I get the following error message:
C:\Program Files\CHIRP\chirpw.exe This application has failed to start because che application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. (OK)
I tried to de-install, to install the older version, to install again without de-installing, etc.. but no avail. Maybe it is a simple issue, but by myself I cannot find the way to solve the problem.
Many thanks in advance,

This isn't a chirp problem or error message, but rather one that Windows gives you when there's a DLL issue. Google for it and you will find a ton of references to it for other applications, as well as some hints on how to fix it.
