I programmed my kg-uv3d using chirp a couple years ago
Current version Chirp does not list KG-UV3D, tried all listed under Wouxun but none worked.
Is there a earlier chirp version that lists KG-UV3D?
Thanks,
Jack

The CHIRP home page shows this info under "Supported Radio Models":
Wouxun
- KG-UVD1P/UV2D/UV3D - KG-UV6D/UV6X - KG-UV8D - KG-UV8D Plus - KG-816/818
In the CHIRP program, the"Download From Radio" dialog has an option under Vendor "Wouxun" for Model "KG-UVD1P". It appears that option should also work for the KG-UV3D. See line 60 or thereabouts in what appears to be the latest version of wouxun.py, from the CHIRP Repository, here:
https://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/repository/changes/chirp/drivers/...
https://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/repository/revisions/919242a3a1d8...
60 """Wouxun KG-UVD1P,UV2,UV3"""
I'm guessing there is only so much space available in the pull-down menus of that dialog?

Apologies for the formatting on that last reply. Thunderbird was defaulting to Western encoding, which was apparently not playing well with the list software. I've switched to Unicode and cleaned up the extraneous "" characters below. If they show up again then I will just leave well enough alone...

Hi to all. Chirp developer here.
Chirp introduced a development concept a while ago entitled "Aliasing or radio clones" (search for it on the wiki) that is the perfect fit for that, this was introduced while the baofeng clones spring...
This problem is the perfect fit for that solution.... a few physical radios that behave as just one radio from the programming perspective (chirp's perspective), as users we can say that all them are "clones" of one "original" radio.
I will try to fix that oddity when I have some free time (buried with work now)
Cheers, Pavel CO7WT.
