[chirp_users] USB-3
Wondering if I am the only one having trouble getting Chirp to work with my new laptop. It is an i7 running win 7 pro and using USB-3 rather than USB-2. Device mgr tells me the correct driver is there and its ready to go. When I try to read from the radio, it always tells me there is an error and cant read/find the files. When I fire up the older Vista machine the programming works fine using the same cable and radio. So in short I am starting to think there is a compatibility issue when using USB-3. Anyone else with this issue???

What radio are you trying to program?

Tried three rigs, two baofeng UV-5R and a Wouxun KG-UV3D. As I said they program just fine when using a PC running VISTA and USB 2's. Problem only occurs on the new Laptop running Win 7Pro and USB-3's.

What drivers did you use for the cable? Have you tried the ones on the miklor website?

Cant remember the numbers but seems like it was 3.2.0 or similar, anyway its the one that is recommended for my 64 bit system and got it from the Miklor site. Guess I'll keep poking around.
Thanks for the reply's Daniel.. A fine name, same as my older brother....

Roll back the driver to 3.2.0.0 if it is a Prolific cable.

Hi list,
Just finished programming a batch of UV5R N5R2045 and -1 -7 All working fine.
Using Chirp Daily 20150513: download UV5R radio image deleted existing frequencies imported same freq list used on above batch no errors at all reported all seemed OK with import and upload
Unit transmits ok, RX indicator blue background lite works ok, when there is carrier or when hitting the monitor switch, just no audio. Tried set of headphones in rec jack -- still no audio.
Tried the same with Daily 20150530, no errors, no change.
did keyboard reset, no errors, no change.
Any possible setting that could cause this, or DOA audio output?
tnx es 73 de Bill WB2SXY --

I has someone send me a "factory" image from a radio with N5R firmware within the last couple of days that appeared to have been cross-loaded with BFB firmware at the factory. That would cause a radio not to receive.
How about attaching your original downloaded image files?

I thought I heard a long time back that the speaker jack was flakey on a few radios and there would not be any audio, just as when the program cord is inserted. Whoever it was opened the rig to access the jacks and readjusted the contacts. Solved his problem.

I had the same with my Kenwood TH-F7E No audio after I unplugged a headset. As it was new and still under warranty I did sent it to Kenwood and they fixed it. No more problems the past years.

I has someone send me a "factory" image from a radio with N5R
firmware
within the last couple of days that appeared to have been
cross-loaded
with BFB firmware at the factory. That would cause a radio not to receive.
How about attaching your original downloaded image files?
