[chirp_users] New chirp-next build
Greetings,
A new build of CHIRP-next is available. This includes changes made directly to the tree since yesterday and may include additional features, bug fixes, etc. As a reminder, this is different from the "daily" CHIRP builds in that new development and features are happening here. It is the latest and greatest, but also may be less stable than the "daily" builds at this time. If it works for you, we recommend using CHIRP-next, but if your radio is not yet working on it, then you may prefer to use the "daily" builds for the time being.
You can get it from here:
http://trac.chirp.danplanet.com/chirp_next/
A list of changes since the last build are here:
Changes for Build #65 [3046399+kk7ds] Use wx.Locale instead of gettext
[3046399+kk7ds] Fix untranslated menu names
[3046399+kk7ds] Refresh locale files
[3046399+kk7ds] New Model Support- Wouxun KG-935G Plus
[3046399+kk7ds] UV-9R Pro: Allow 7 character channel names - fixes #9932
[3046399+kk7ds] Update es_ES.po

I am baffled. Other than the fact that the last "regular" Chirp may not have supported the newest transceiver you purchased, what is (or are) the substantive new feature(s) to Chirp-next? I gave up downloading a new build every day, although I'm sure that is how the original Chirp developed. It looks about the same to me. When the new builds slow down to one every two weeks or so, I'll go back to getting new builds of "next". 73, Chris Knowles, WD1E

The wink ;-) at the end is your clue that this is humour. I /do/ skim the release notes with each chirp-next post, to see if any of my radios are affected, or if some feature of interest is addressed. But it was more of a wink and a nod to compliment (actually complement, until the 1600s, CE, curiously enough) the amount of work the crew is doing.
