I'm using a TYT 9800, which supports 66-80MHz, I think.
I've been trying to set frequencies within this range, but CHIRP complains that they are out of supported range. I'm guessing that msg comes from CHIRP, not the radio, since it isn't connected at the time.

CHIRP isn't going to know what radio you have unless you read from the radio first. Then you can find out if the frequency is supported or not. Jardy Dawson WA7JRD Ham Radio

In answer to the resonses, but in no particular order:
The radio supports it; I can set these frequencies manually. I downloaded from the radio first, then populated that.
From that, I can see in Settings, Model Info, values in "60MHz Rx Start"
[and corresponding End / TX Start & End] of 66 --> 88 MHz

CHIRP supports the following:
26-33 MHz 47-54 Mhz 108-180 MHz 350-512 MHz 750-950 MHz
The manual say that 68-88 MHz and 220-260 MHz are optional bands.

There you go!!
That answers it, I guess. Something for the future.
