[chirp_users] CHIRP - support for ICOM IC-2300H
Hi,
I've really been enjoying CHIRP - I started using it a few weeks before I got my callsign in April. It's made programming my HTs and one of my mobile rigs a real pleasure.
I've now acquired a couple of mobile rigs - one, an ICOM IC-2100H which CHIRP supports well, and the other, the IC-2300H which it doesn't seem to support at all. What's the process to register interest in getting a radio supported? Obviously since I own it, as well as three other radios that CHIRP does support, I'd be willing to help out in the process if I can.
Thanks,
Jim / VE5EIS
Dunno.. someone has been interested in supplying a Puxing PX-888K to the developers; but there has been no response. May be hard to get the process started.

Instructions to "register interest" are at http://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/FAQ#How-can-I-get-my-radio-su...
I also suggest you to read http://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/Rules_For_Loaning_A_Radio#Rul...
Getting answer can take while but I can assure you that all issue are readden the same day they are posted. We (the developers) do our best to support the project but remember we "are volunteers, who spend their nights and weekends creating a free tool" ... and we also need to sleep (sometimes) ;)

Thank you. This radio somehow wasn't on the list of models people want supported - which is puzzling :) - so I've added it. Your help is appreciated.

Hello Jim Somehow i am not able to complete the entry online but am interested if you can add Kenwood TK 2100 to the list of compatible radios?

I'm just a user, not a developer; I expect you need one of the developers to do that.

If I'm understanding you right, you've tested the TK-2100 with Chirp (presumably with the TK-7102 driver) and it works just fine. Now you would like to add it to the list of supported radios on the homepage. Is this correct?
You'll need wiki editor privileges to do this. We'd love to have some more people volunteer to maintain documentation in the wiki. No need to be a developer. If you already have an account set up on the site, Dan can make sure you have wiki privileges. I'm not sure if accounts have wiki privileges by default or if they are limited to the Issues section.

It's much easier to get the process started if you are willing to do the work. What you will need is the radio, the correct cable for the radio, and software that works to read the radio (ideally writes to the radio as well). It is easier to use Windows XP if possible as serial sniffer programs are easier to obtain and use on this operating system.
