Conveying Baofeng UV-5 to an Icom IC-T7H was a matter of copy/paste, with the occasional conflict to be resolved because of different channel usages.

Robert,

The first thing you need to do is to make sure CHIRP can even program your VV-898. Leixen has changed the radio since the original CHIRP support was created and may have broken it (according to some open issues).

If CHIRP does program your VV-898 OK, then all you need to do is import a saved CHIRP Radio Images (*.img) file from your UV-5R into a tab from your VV-898. I use a UV-5R image as the master from programming all of my CHIRP supported dual-band radios. A more detailed explanation can be found here.
