[chirp_users] New Daily Build
Greetings,
A new daily build of CHIRP is available. This includes changes made directly to the tree yesterday, and may include additional features, bug fixes, and/or bugs. If you are interested in trying it, grab it from the following location:
http://trac.chirp.danplanet.com/chirp_daily/daily-20150314
A list of the changes included in this build (since the last daily) follows:
Changes for Build #337 [Marco Filippi iz3gme.marco@gmail.com] [TH-F6A] Implementing settings
Most of the settings have been implemented
supports #2383
Hi, Newest build 3/14/15 won't start on an established Slackware system though old 13.1.
Got this display on a terminal:
bash-4.1$ chirpw Traceback (most recent call last): File "./chirpw", line 20, in <module> from chirp import logger File "/home/ksaves/chirp-daily-20150314/chirp/logger.py", line 27, in <module> import argparse ImportError: No module named argparse bash-4.1$
When I start it in my last prior version, I get this in the terminal and the program starts up nominally for use in another window. What is the argparse module? argparse is in Python 2.7 and the old library is now deprecated.

There are other things we do assuming python 2.7, so I'm surprised that this is the first thing that has broken you. However, it's probably time for you to upgrade as Python 2.6 is many years old and no longer supported:

Weeeelllll, me not so smart so I believe I'll get another hard drive for this laptop, stick a more "modern" OS version on it and go from there. I have way too many, hacked up, windows emulated stuff on this drive that I "hafta" use so some times it's best to start over and be able to go back to the old drive to run something I can't figure out (for the moment) to run on the new one.;-) Kurt KC9LDH
