[chirp_users] Windows update for FTDI
As has been noted on here before, FTDI has updates that make non FTDI usb to serial adapters found in many programming cables inoperative by rewriting the device ID so moving it to a new computer won't help. I guess FTDI is at it again as mentioned in this TechRepublic article: http://www.techrepublic.com/article/ftdi-abuses-windows-update-pushing-drive...
By sending out updated Windows drivers during automatic updates breaks counterfeit cables.
So as has been mentioned here before, use older drivers.

When I tried to force the older driver the newer one was reinstalled automatically and could not be disabled either
