[chirp_users] Is BF-F9V2+ Supported
Just received my new BF-F9V2+. Don’t see that model in the CHIRP dropdown menu for reading from the radio. Is it supported? Thanks. Steve P
Just another UV5R clone.

I’ve been admonished once for selecting a different model than listed on the radio... don’t want to do the wrong thing.

John is correct. Select UV5R. If the firmware is not compatible, the program will stop you providing you are using the Latest Daily Build. http://www.miklor.com/COM/UV_CHIRP.php

I respectfully disagree. The BF-F9V2+ is a Baofeng model with 3 power levels. This means it requires the BF-F8HP model selection.

Ahh, you are correct. I should know better, as I have one here. My bad...

Success. The software prevented me from using the UV-5R selection. But, the BF-F8 selection worked for the BF-F9 (both are 3-power radios). Thanks

Steve,
I you go to the CHIRP home page and look at the Supported Radio Models List you will see that your radio is supported as a BF-F8HP. Use that model selection, and only that model selection.
Also make sure you are using a recent CHIRP daily build.
