Re: [chirp_users] No Channels Found

Hi, Maybe someone can look at my CSV file for me. I'm trying to import a CSV file into my TYT 9800, and I have a CSV file with almost 200 entries, and when I import, it says no channels found. I'm using Windows with a screenreader, so I am limited to what I can manage. Fortunately Chirp brings up the last radio I accessed, otherwise I would have a very hard time routing cursors to try and select the radio in the list. But I use the Jaws cursor to read a dialog box that comes up when I paste the path to the CSV file and enter. For screenreader users, or anyone else in windows, shift + applications key and then press the letter A on your file to import, outside of Chirp, and the path to the file will be in the clipboard for pasting. Browsing in the Chirp program in windows would be another challenge, that is why I do it this way. All this was easy in Linux. Anyway, thanks for any assistance. Glenn
I presume you mean other then the file name has a "+", "&" and "more" - assuming that's the name of the file being loaded?
It actually might not be a problem - it's just something I would never do in python.

The filename isn't in Python so that comment is irrelevent.

Glenn,
I can confirm that the file is no good.
Also - I warn you especially since you are blind - I just don't see well - but I have be3en tricked several times.
My Windows 10 automatically opens up csv in Google Cloud - and that will produce a bad file.
You cannot use any Microsoft product, and Google Cloud seems to be the same way.
Maybe you can download from the radio again, and send us an img file. If you want to use csv, only libreOffice and OpenOffice will work - but I understand that's no longer recommended either.

Here's the .IMG File. I changed it to .TXT hoping it will be able to be sent that way. Glenn ----- Original Message ----- From: D.J.J. Ring, Jr. To: Discussion of CHIRP Sent: Saturday, June 04, 2022 7:21 PM Subject: Re: [chirp_users] No Channels Found

That file opened up and here is the generic csv made from it.
Remember to use either openoffice or libreoffice to work on it.

Glenn, your CSV file is badly formatted. Let me look at it a bit more and see if I can make the changes needed to import it. As was mentioned, modifying a CSV with excel will mess with the format (mostly dropping trailing commas - what ever you used dropped one comma) error I've seen is the inability to convert tone to float, your file has "0" when it should be "0.000000" As I said let me play with it and see if I can manipulate it ... //al

I always open mine in Libra if I'm planning on editing it, since it was mentioned on the Chirp list years back, maybe it was you, that Word messes up the commas. In years past With MS Word I have had some cells get two commas and some with none.

It was not in a proper format for CHIRP or invalid for TH9800. Some of the problems are...
1 The rToneFreq field is empty. Even when it is unused, it must have a value. The default is 88.5. 2 The TStep field requires a floating value. It must have a decimal point. Typically it is padded out to 2 decimal places. 3 Memory rows had frequencies that are out-of-band (the radio doesn't support broadcast FM frequencies in memory channels). 4 Rows after 188 are all invalid.
