[chirp_users] Baofeng UV-5R error message
I have a problem with programming a Baofeng UV-5R radio with the CHIRP program. I get the following error message:
Radio refused to send block 0x1ec0
I am a lowly accountant and do not understand a lot of the jargon and abbreviations commonly used by radio enthusiasts.
I previously programmed 7 Baofeng UV05R radios in the past few months without any problem.
So . . . is there a solution to the error message?

It doesn't sound like you have upgraded to the latest daily build. This was addressed in the 20150325 build. Grab the new one released today and you should be OK.

Hello Jim, I am using a 6 mo old Chirp with good results. I do not know how to correctly add a new Daily Build. Does new overwrite old version ? Delete old version first ? Download another " helper " program that I now don/t remember the name of ? I could use a Daily Build for Dummies help reply. Thanks for what u do for us. Sarge

The new Daily Build will install over whatever version you currently have installed. No need to uninstall first. Do the follow with CHIRP closed
1 Visit the CHIRP download page: http://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/Download 2 Click on the "latest daily builds" link 3 Download the file that ends in "installer.exe"
Assuming that the file was downloaded into your "Downloads" folder
4 Browse to your "Downloads" folder with Windows Explorer 5 Locate the file that was just downloaded and double-click it 6 Follow the prompts to complete the install

Good day .. I have 6 radios "pofung GT" bought. I bought an original Baofeng cable with an original CD. But the program for the radio "Pofung GT-1" is not on the CD.
I have the program http://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/Download (chirp-0.4.1-installer.exe) downloaded and installed. Unfortunately, the program does not work. And the radio is not recognized. What do I do? Best Regards Marco BURASCHI

You are using a version of CHIRP that is nearly a year old. With the Baofeng/Pofung radios, always use the Latest Daily Build
