[chirp_users] PPA and auto CHIRP update/upgrade 'issue'
Hi, I'm having a problem with the automatic update of CHIRP since I upgraded Ubuntu from 16.xx to 19.04 64 bit. I get various error messages when entering the three lines of instruction on the dansmith site. I then see: Unable to download updates: failed to refresh cache E:The repository 'http://ppa.launchpad.net/dansmith/ chirp-snapshots/ubuntu http://ppa.launchpad.net/dansmith/chirp-snapshots/ubuntu?fbclid=IwAR1bQXquRhoBWyeSsUYhCf_uQwzrO-RsfLVqisvoJpHh5Li_WcBMsu_in3s disco Release' does not have a release file. Everything worked fine until the upgrade to 19.04. So now I have to manually update CHIRP. Any thoughts for a Linux/Ubuntu novice? Thanks. Mike - G4UPD
This was answered a few days ago.
Chirp isn't yet in the 19.04 repositories.
Go to Administratiom/Software & Updates/Other Software/ and edit the http://ppa.launchpad/dansmith...... lines to show Distribution: bionic

There is no repo yet for 19.04. Usually when a new *buntu version is released it takes a while for the Chirp maintainers to add a new repo for the new version.
You can try going to "Software & Updates" (or editing the sources.list file) and replace "disco" with "cosmic" in the chirp repo line then apt update and install it.
Otherwise you can install Chirp locally and not use the Ubuntu Launchpad repo.
