I recently got this radio and today the programming cable came. I now see that there is not a Chirp listing for this particular radio. Will another Yaesu radio's setting work, or do I need to use the Yaesu software (which I didn't order as I got my cable from Amazon)? I have a bunch of repeaters I want to program in and would like to use the same basic file as I use in my Baofeng HTs and that I used in my Anytone before it crapped out and I returned it.
Thanks
The 7900 is supported in the daily build of Chirp I use. Your radio is listed in this daily build - 20140121. It's not listed as a daily build radio on the link to supported radios so it may even be in the latest stable release, 3.1. What build of Chirp are you running that doesn't support the 7900? That radio has been out for awhile.

I'm running 3.1, regular or "stable" build. I'll try one of the daily builds from the Chirp site.
