[chirp_users] Baofeng UV5R
On a Beofeng UV5R, is there any way to disable the VFO from being displayed so that only channels will be displayed?
On my UV5R, using CHIRP, I was able to assign a channel name and set it so the radio displays the assigned name instead of the frequency. I don't think this can be done from the radio keypad.

No. There used to be a model available called the F-11 that had a setting to disable VFO/MR switching so the user couldn't switch to VFO mode. The UV-82C and UV-82HP (sold by BaofengTech) have this ability.
The best you can do is to disable the VFO by swapping the upper and lower band limits. It doesn't keep the user from going to VFO mode but it keeps the user from using the radio in VFO mode.
