Anybody else getting multiple (sometimes a dozen) copies of same mail from this list?<a href="http://overview.mail.yahoo.com?.src=iOS"><br/><br/>Sent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone</a>
Nope, i have never gotten a duplicate email. Sounds like some sort of IMAP bug.

Anybody else getting multiple (sometimes a dozen) copies of same mail from this list?
Looks to be only related to yahoo users. It seems clear to me that the yahoo mail servers are at fault. From the mail logs:
Jan 3 08:43:59 intrepid postfix/smtp[4640]: 919DA255DB: to=kd4tjx@yahoo.com, relay=mta5.am0.yahoodns.net[66.196.118.35]:25, delay=47, delays=1/15/16/15, dsn=4.4.2, status=deferred (lost connection with mta5.am0.yahoodns.net[66.196.118.35] while sending end of data -- message may be sent more than once)
This means that while delivering the message to their servers, the connection was terminated by the remote end. This is a clear violation of SMTP rules, where the receiving end needs to give an ACK (200 code) or NAK (400/500 code) to indicate whether it has taken possession of the email or not. Without such a response, my server has no idea if the remote side has it or not, so it resends it to make sure that it is not dropped (another requirement of the SMTP rules).
It's clear that it's not even a mis-configured SPAM filter, because the message *is* being delivered to the user even after the terminated connection (which is why they end up with duplicates).
There are 1446 such failures in the logs since 2013-12-29, all from yahoo mail servers. If you're a yahoo user, I suggest you take it up with them.

Thanks all... seems like this issue is resolved today...

Sent to who? You suggested the Yahoo email users contact Yahoo. That won't every accomplish anything except a canned reply. I think the mail server admin has more of a chance getting issues investigated. And I'm not just blowing smoke out of my butt I know this from experience as the former administrator of several small and medium sized email servers. Anyways it's stopped for now. I've seen a lot of oddities from Yahoo mail in my 15 years of using the service but can't recall seeing duplicates.

Yes, very shortly after I sent my analysis the issue abruptly stopped :)

Every now and then I've seen different mail servers get "jamed" and duplicate emails will get sent to some random user.
Sending emails to ask if anyone else is seeing them, and then to the hosting company, normally gets someone to look a the problem. Even with the canned emails, someone will see the problem and look at it.

A couple weeks ago Yahoo USA had a mail outage. I suppose they are having some issues again. I seemed to have an unusual amount of email from the Chirp list this morning but didn't read most of it. If it doesn't involve Anytone or Baofeng UV5R in Windows or Mac I don't care about it and send it to trash unopened. I did that with 16 new email from the Chirp list this AM. But I didn't get a dozen copies of any 1 topic. Sounds like soft bounces being resent to me without actually reading headers.
