[chirp_users] new Baofeng radio & th-f6a -- linux issues
Debian jessie chirp-daily-20160110.tar.gz 2 added python packages
attached is the log file
I've downloaded the archives of the mail list and searched those phrases with no luck
I believe I followed the instructions on the web page
TH-F6a -- Start chirp;
port: ttyUSB0 manuf: Kenwood radio: auto detect
I get the error message; 'serial' object has no attribute 'setbaud'
========================================= UV-5R V2 -- Start chirp;
port: ttyUSB0 manuf: Baofeng radio: uv5r
I get the error message; failed to communicate with radio 'serial' object has no attribute 'setTimeOut'

I just read my TH-F6a and UV-82 with my Linux Mint 17.3 and CHIRP daily-20160110. My guess is that your user is not a member of the dialout group.

Is this a known good programming cable?

came with the radio, and it works with the windos laptop I keep for emergencies. Yes it is good.
lsusb lsusb -v just check the output for anything odd such as serial or make 12345
is the USB port USB3? try another

This is incorrect; apt-get install python-gtk python-serial python-libxml2
there is no python-gtk, it's now python-gtk3, irregardless, still does not work.
Attached are a screen shot and output of
/usr/bin/chirpw --log /home/rodney/chirp.log --log-level 9

I sat down today and was able to get the above working, while the default debian jessie still fails.
Should I submit a bug report for debian jessie?
