[chirp_users] New Daily Build
Greetings,
A new daily build of CHIRP is available. This includes changes made directly to the tree yesterday, and may include additional features, bug fixes, and/or bugs. If you are interested in trying it, grab it from the following location:
http://trac.chirp.danplanet.com/chirp_daily/daily-20170108
A list of the changes included in this build (since the last daily) follows:
Changes for Build #456 [Jim Unroe rock.unroe@gmail.com] [LT-588UV] Add New MCU Version to LT-588UV Support
This patch provides support for a new MCU version discovered by Ray Strickoff.
Bug #4369
[Tom Hayward tom@tomh.us] Fix RadioSettingValueMap marked changed upon creation. #4371
RadioSettingValueMap instances were marked changed regardless of whether they were actually changed. This was due to calling set_value() from within __init__(). This fix reintializes has_changed to False at the end of __init__() so that RadioSetting.has_changed() is accurate.
[Tom Hayward tom@tomh.us] Add an open dialog filter for all files. #4359
Hi: Just installed this new build on a Win_XP system. When I clicked on the shortcut, I get this error message, "The specifed module could not be found LoadLibrary(Pythondll) failed". I was hoping to program a Baofeng UV 5RTP. Appreciate anyhelp. ----- Original Message ----- From: Build System donotreply@danplanet.com To: chirp users chirp_users@intrepid.danplanet.com Sent: Sun, 08 Jan 2017 01:15:48 -0700 (MST) Subject: [chirp_users] New Daily Build

Good morning, You might try an earlier version. I have several of the 5RTP, and I have used CHIRP for about a year with them. I am currently running 20161018, and it works fine. I'd say even just backing up one rev should work for you.

Thank you. Downloaded the 0161018 version and received the message, "An error occurred Radio did not respond". Somewhere there was a suggestion that the programming cable might need some surgery ! At this point I don't feel brave enough :-) Regardsharsha godavari ----- Original Message ----- From: Rich Messeder rich.messeder@gmail.com To: Discussion of CHIRP chirp_users@intrepid.danplanet.com Sent: Sun, 08 Jan 2017 06:57:47 -0700 (MST) Subject: Re: [chirp_users] New Daily Build

Greetings Harsha, When I first started w the Baofeng, I had cable trouble. I was advised to make sure that the connector to the radio was well seated. I checked it and it seemed fine. After several failed attempts, I took special care to see how well it seated, and found that it really must be /firmly/ pushed in to be fully seated. Since then, no problems with several releases of CHIRP.

I've seen so many email threads discussing the seating of the cable into the radio. Mine did not fit very well into my radio until I took a razor blade and cut a little bit of the rubber out of the corner of the connector. I have had no problems with that cable since. You need to feel that cable clicking into the radio and if you cut that excess rubber out of the way, then you will get that verification confirmation.

Hi Walt: Yes I tried to shave off a bit of the rubber, may be not enough. I will try a deeper incision in a couple of weeks after I get home and let you know the results.73sharsha godavariVE4SAI ----- Original Message ----- From: Walt Childson wchildson@gmail.com To: CHIRP chirp_users@intrepid.danplanet.com Sent: Sun, 08 Jan 2017 17:55:51 -0700 (MST) Subject: Re: [chirp_users] New Daily Build

Hi Rich: Thanks for the suggestion. I tried seating te cable as snugly as I can Even reamed out the apertures in the radio_casing but all to no vail. I would like to open up the radio and see how well the contacts are made. I have no tools here (not even a multitester, visiting Hyderabad,India). In two weeks I will be back in the great white north, then I can fiddle with it :-) regardsharsha godavari ----- Original Message ----- From: Rich Messeder rich.messeder@gmail.com To: Discussion of CHIRP chirp_users@intrepid.danplanet.com Sent: Sun, 08 Jan 2017 15:00:24 -0700 (MST) Subject: Re: [chirp_users] New Daily Build
