[chirp_users] Baofeng BF-666S compatability
Hi guys,
Does anybody knows if Chirp can program the above UHF handy?
thank you *[image: http://www.cwops.org/images/cqcani.gif%5D* *73,* *Izzy 4X1UF*

It should work, it appears to be the same as the BF-888S. Please let us know if it works for you.
The latest daily build lists the 888S but that's a dual band and it's highly unlikely the two are interchangeable as far as programming with Chirp. Maybe the 666S is in the works, I don't know I'm not part of their software development. Jens who posts to this list is part of that group of people so he would be a better source of info as to what is in the works.

Unfortunately, CHIRP for the BF-888S is still a work in progress.
I was trying to get it to work this morning under Windows and it's still buggy.
It will download an image from the radio but will not upload the changes back to the radio.
A bug report was submitted about 3 weeks ago. Bug Report #1195

The BF-888S is single-band UHF, 400-470 MHz. I was using one to test the code, as well as an HST H-777. (Which is basically the same thing with different labels, and is actually made by Baofeng according to the CMIIT ID details.)
The web suggests that the BF-666S can be programmed with the Baofeng BF-480 Windows software, which is the same as used for the BF-888S.
I was misled by a website that had a graphic of the radio and stated "VHF UHF" capable. I thought I had posted a correction?

You may have sent it, but I've seen messages that get sent out vanish, never to be heard from again.

I did not see this model in the official supported list.
Is there a chance any recent versions support the Yaesu FT-2600M?
Just an FYI: The BF-888S is a 16 channel UHF only transceiver.
