[chirp_users] Message Archive, Dan Smith
I see my test message arrived at the message archive but I'm not getting a copy. Is this actually being sent to others on the list or is the list server holding them for some reason? I'm not a new user I'm Milton formerly from Yahoo. So I really need to know if these two messages are propagating outwards to others. And where does the list server get my name from? Can that be changed back to Milton

Milton,
You're using gmail now, I see. They suppress the message echo back to you. The only way to know that it posted is to see it in the archive.

You can get a copy by setting your mail client to bcc: the message to you. Of course this doesn’t go through the list server but it indicates that the message did get sent.

Yeah I think I'm happy for now with just knowing the message propagated. I've got a bookmark right to the archives that I can check instantly. Also I'm kind of liking the instant Gmail updates on my phone and tablet. I don't need to keep Gmail open in my browser. Yahoo had the audacity to inquire what I thought of my experience with their customer service. The last field in the survey offered your personal opinion. I wrote them a scathing rant about the millions including myself that had to scramble with their non-yahoo lists without any notification from them that would have been easy for them to mass mail customers. That was a blind lick in the gonads if I ever saw one especially for those who don't read slashdot forums. I think I'm satified for now, I really like the group and the members except for Tom Hayward who can be a thorn in my side, but he's lightened up a little on me. So let's let this topic lay for now.

So Gmail prevents the copy being sent back to Gmail? If so those will appear to the list servers as bounces. I better change my delivery options and just trust that my messages are getting to the list and going out to others.
Thanks for the tip
