Re: [chirp_users] Unable to upload to VX-5R
This normally means the driver and the program had a problem. If the driver is from Prolific, try different "chirp" program

It’s not the connection as it consistently works for download from HT and consistently dies on upload. Worse yet, when it stops mid cloning, the app cannot be canceled. I can force quit it but then the usb serial port is no longer usable and the machine must be rebooted to try again. On Apr 20, 2018, at 2:33 PM, Tom Hayward tom@tomh.us wrote:

ERROR: ----------------
ERROR: Clone failed: Failed to communicate with the radio: (9, 'Bad file descriptor') I think that means your USB serial cable went away during the transfer. What chipset USB serial cable is it? Maybe someone else who understands the Prolific/FTDI driver more can comment.
