[chirp_users] jetstream jt270m on win10
I cannot figure out how to get my radio to download to chirp. I have CHIRP daily-20190703 installed and the usb cable going to the mic input on the radio. I suspect that win10 doesn't like whatever chip there is in the cable but would appreciate suggestions to try before I get another cable (from the known good list).
Hi Patricia, Perhaps it's the terminology you are using. Download is from Chirp to the radio, and Upload is to Chirp. You will first download to the radio, set up the database, and upload to the radio.

Glenn,
I think you meant to say it right but it wound up being reversed.
An easy way to remember is to look at it as if the radio is sitting on top of the computer. Data going from the radio towards the computer would be down (download). Data going from the computer towards the radio would be up (upload).
Radio ⇊ (on the Radio tab choose "Download From Radio Alt+D") Computer
Radio ⇈ (on the Radio tab choose "Upload To Radio Alt+U") Computer

Yeah, I wondered after I sent it if the way I wrote it made as clear as mud.

If your programming cable is manufactured with a Prolific type USB-to-TTL chip, you most likely need to download, install and select the older Prolific v3.2.0.0 device driver. This web page has a link to the device driver and instructions for how to select it.
