Is a Chirp update for UV-5R 291 Firmware in the works?
Thanks

Greetings,
A new daily build of CHIRP is available. This includes changes made directly to the tree yesterday, and may include additional features, bug fixes, and/or bugs. If you are interested in trying it, grab it from the following location:

A list of the changes included in this build (since the last daily) follows:
Changes for Build #117 [Dan Smith dsmith@danplanet.com] Update German translation with UTF-8 encoding Related to #315

Update: I've got the matrix! I found where and how the frequency range is stored so I can check it. I have updated feature #285 http://chirp.danplanet.com/issues/285 to keep track of the work. I'll take a few days more to have the update but now is only a matter of writing code.

Ed,
Yes, an update is in the works, but progress is not fast, as the developers that are writing the fix do not have a v291 radio to test against, and thus need to rely on end users for help & testing.
The changes in the firmware are significant, but progress is being made, and with any luck, Dan will have a new daily build for everyone to work with soon. :-)
