Re: [chirp_users] Bug #2155 - Uv-5r not receiving but will transmitt - Fixed
I used the N5R2401(141006N)(factory).img
My read firmware ver. BFB 297. But the error message in chirp said N5R2401.
I went to the http://kc9hi.dyndns.org/uv5r/programming/CHIRPrecovery/ webpage. Downloaded the correct file. Uploaded the N5R2401(141006N)(factory).img Programmed the NOAA radio and to test. All fixed.

This not fixed. I tried all those steps suggested and it did not work. The radio was fine until I loaded my old file with chrip onto the new Uv-5r. Then receive got muted.
I tried the factory image and leaving the beep on. Nothing works. I am upset because it looks like the radio is ruined.

Larry,
Correct. You have to look on the CHIRP Settings -> Other Settings menu panel to get the "real" firmware version. Then upload the matching "factory" CHIRP Radio Image file.
Glad you got it sorted out. Now make sure you are running the latest CHIRP daily build so you won't be able to accidentally upload an incompatible image file in the future.
