[chirp_users] Comcast bouncing Chirp mail
Is all of Comcast bouncing the Chirp mailing list or just me?
Today was the second time in I swear less than a week my membership was suspended because of too many bounced messages.
I think I read Comcast is deploying this DMARC strategy like Yahoo has. Gmail works good although you won't get a copy of your message sent to the list. You'll want to turn that off in your list setting because your bounced copies count as soft bounces and once you hit level five, the list server disables your account. You will be able to send to the list as I understand, but your copy and other list comments will bounce. Get a Gmail account or one from some other mom and pop mail service who isn't implementing this BS domain based message authentication. Obviously those using it want to cut list traffic down. My Yahoo spam filter still gets on average over 20 spammed messages a day so it doesn't do anything for spam.

chirp_users mailing list chirp_users@intrepid.danplanet.com http://intrepid.danplanet.com/mailman/listinfo/chirp_users
Hi Milton, it is my understanding that the way GMail handles messages you send to a list (such as CHIRP) is to discard them as redundant, but not bounce them.
Yahoo, AOL & other email services have had other mail issues that do cause messages to bounce (or be rejected), so that is probably what caused the problem.
To be clear, GMail does not bounce messages just because you sent them to yourself in a roundabout way. But Gmail does silently discard those.
