Yep. Unfortunately the factory delivered settings and the RESET
settings are not the same (for example a factory new UV-5R speaks
English but is set to Chinese after a reset). That's why I always
recommend that the first thing done after purchasing a new  CHIRP
supported radio is to download an image of the radio's "factory" state
and save it, unedited, to a CHIRP Radio Images (*.img) to be kept in a
safe place as a backup.
