You are quite correct. I can indeed change individual memory contents. Its just the bank configuration that is not accessible.
I might have a look at the code myself and see whether I can add that functionality!

Can you really not make *any* changes? A quick look at the code shows that changing the bank a memory belongs to is not supported by Chirp today, unfortunately. However, you should still be able to make other changes.
