The cables with authentic FTDI chips have always worked flawlessly for me with CHIRP. I’ve purchased good cables from both Amazon and eBay and used them on a collection of inexpensive HTs & mobiles - Jetstream, Baofeng/Pofung, Btech, Leixen, Zastone (just not the MP-600). I’ve had very poor luck getting any of the cables included with these inexpensive radios to function properly. YMMV
