I would try to delete it from device manager, and restart your computer. Windows should find the driver if you have installed it. Yes Jim, and Brent, I've already gone through the yellow flag thing. Loaded the older Prolific drvr to work with my obvious knock-off cable. I may eventually resort to ordering an FTDI cable, not ruling that out. But right now, I have hard time believing the cable is the problem as long as I have a driver that works with it.
I'm thinking the manufacturer has changed the radio firmware slightly as they are prone to do, and once again Chirp will have to be tweaked to match the "magic string". But they will have to wait for others to provide log data since I can't even get my radio to work with the manufacturer's programming software.
I was hoping some of the Chirp developers monitor this forum and will chime in with suggestions.

You do not want a "yellow icon' showing. This is an indication of a problem with the driver/programming cable.
